Design Course Term Project

University and college students face the challenge of finding affordable yet quality dining options that fit within their limited budgets. Many students rely on unhealthy or costly food options due to unfamiliarity with the dining landscape near their campuses. This project aimed to address this issue by developing a website, Budget Bites, designed to help post-secondary students discover budget-friendly, high-quality restaurants and cafes within the city of Waterloo

Ensuring the platform could effectively showcase a range of affordable dining options, maintain an intuitive user experience, and adhere to the project deadline was crucial. As this was a term final project, I was under the constraint of using three forms of digital media to present my findings, in which I chose to do video manipulation through my research of student interviews, an interactive map that users would be able to see the recommended dining spots, and finally a visually appealing website to host the above mentioned features.

I served as the sole creator and contributor of this project, keeping myself under certain timelines to create and roll out features to keep the project on track and on time. The site currently displays the student interviews conducted and the interactive map which lists student recommendations.
