LearnConnect: Learning Management Interface

Post-secondary students in remote learning environments face significant challenges in maintaining engagement, participation, and social interaction. Traditional learning management systems often lack features that support interactive and social learning, leading to reduced motivation and a sense of isolation among students.

The project was completed over a 10-week period, with a scope focused on addressing student engagement and social interaction within a digital platform. The team worked with design software tools, primarily Figma and PowerPoint, to create and test low- and medium-fidelity prototypes.

I took on a prominent role in interface design, user research, and usability testing. I conducted in-depth user research through interviews and contextual inquiries to capture students' needs, created detailed personas, and developed journey maps to guide the design process. I also led usability testing (Think-Aloud, Wizard of Oz, and Guerrilla methods) to iteratively refine the interface and enhance user experience.

LearnConnect integrates interactive tools, customizable features, and social connectivity options to support a user-centered approach to online learning. By creating a platform that allows for group quizzes, video chats, and customizable dashboards, we addressed the key issues of engagement and social interaction, resulting in a more dynamic and supportive remote learning experience.
